Summer 2023 . . . Chalk up Another One!
I love summer time and hope you had an opportunity to take a break and enjoy some time with family and friends. The older I get the faster time seems to fly by and I find it hard to believe that Fall is upon us.
As I look back on this summer, I feel we at TANGO accomplished a lot. Our membership grew, in fact we just had our 1600th nonprofit join TANGO! We continue to review numerous new applications from interested companies looking to become Partners of TANGO and our steady stream of educational workshops continued to roll forward with positive feedback from our attendees.
I feel we have finally hit a tipping point where our momentum is leading us toward a new path of growth…this is good; the bigger we get the more we can do to support the sector! Much of this growth is coming from organic word of mouth referrals from our nonprofit members to their peers. A big thank you to all of you who have introduced us to other nonprofits and potential partners!
The summer was highlighted by our Celebrate Nonprofit Night at the Hartford Yard Goats stadium in August. We gave out 800+ tickets to our nonprofit members and seemingly took over the stadium with enthusiastic fans all convening for a fun night out to watch a ballgame and network with our members and partners. We were highlighted with an on the field ceremony recognizing our Partners and our TANGO Rising Star Scholarship Award recipients. Once again I’d like to congratulate the following “Rising Stars”:
Katrina Bresnnahan from the Ct. Association for Community Action
Sabrina Alejandro Colon from CW Resources
Kendra Jones from FAVARH
We are proud to invest $15,000 in supporting education and professional development in these talented and committed individuals. Congrats, I am confident that our investment in you will pay dividends for the sector!
We now turn our attention to our 2023 Annual Building Bridges Conference on November 30th at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville Ct. Registration will be coming soon so please mark your calendars, it’s sure to be a great event.
Lastly, I want to thank our nonprofit members for all you do in our communities, and our socially conscious partners who support their missions through their involvement in TANGO. Together we can accomplish a lot!
Best regards,
Rollin
