Recent Accomplishments:
Over the past two years, thanks to American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding through the City of Bristol, BristolWORKS! was created and has offered foundational training classes in manufacturing, healthcare, IT, and early childhood education, workforce readiness services, and employability skills training, for FREE to those who lived and worked in Bristol and to all other CT residents for a fee. Since our opening in March 2023, more than 800 individuals have registered with us evidencing a need for workforce training, services, and support.
We work to ensure that our participants are not only trained to get a job but also prepared with the workforce readiness skills to “keep” the job. While our primary focus is on the unemployed and underemployed, we work with anyone looking to increase their skills and/or enter a new career path. Our work prepares people to continue onto advanced training programs and/or employment.
In addition to our primary services listed above, BristolWORKS! also provides “upskilling” training for our local employers including Blueprint Reading and Manufacturing math classes, leadership workshops, Introduction to Supervisory Skills training and more. We customize trainings as requested by the employers and work to ensure that our offerings are relevant to the needs of our local workforce.

How has TANGO impacted your Organization:
As a primarily, grant-funded nonprofit, TANGO has provided invaluable information, workshops, and conferences which may otherwise not have been available to us due to costs. The information and knowledge that TANGO has provided has allowed BristolWORKS! to ensure that we have current information in regard to legal, financial, and organizational matters. TANGO’s collaboration with providers has also allowed us to work with “like-minded” businesses who support non-profits and work to better our nonprofit world.
