For those of you who could not attend, we hosted our TANGO Building Bridges Annual Conference last Thursday with close to 300 nonprofit executives joining us for a day of networking and business-oriented education. From the feedback I’ve received, it was a smashing success! This conference is simply designed around our mission; “to help nonprofits thrive…from a business perspective”!
I’d like to give a special thanks to the speakers of two highly informative sessions:
First, Social Enterprises were discussed by three fantastic leaders who are deploying this strategy very successfully: Dr Shalonda Hill, CEO of Hill Educational Resources, Bill Green, CEO of CW Resources and Rick Sebastian, CEO of Kennedy Collective.
Secondly, the topic of Mergers, Acquisitions and Strategic Alliances was brought to life by three nonprofit executives who have built some of the largest, most impactful organizations in New England. Kathee Jordan, CEO The Seven Hills Foundation, JP Venoit, CEO of Masonicare and Dave Lawlor, CEO of United Methodist Homes. Very impressive presentations, thanks again!
During lunch, Jillian Gilcrest, CT State Representative and Alan Deckman, TANGO Partner and President at TCORS provided a highly interactive discussion of the future of nonprofit funding. And we wrapped up the day with a few laughs from comedian Harry Freedman posing as a famous nonprofit expert.
I’d also like to thank our TANGO Partners who presented on a variety of business topics that covered, legal, finance/accounting, risk management, employee benefits & retirement plans and marketing. We of course, provided time at the conference for some highly productive networking with our partners and our nonprofit members. This event wouldn’t happen without the generosity of our TANGO Partners…thanks all!
We now turn our attention to our formal launch of a new TANGO hub in the Capital Region of NY. After months of meetings with nonprofit leaders in the Albany area, we have been encouraged to bring TANGO’s resources to this region. We invite all interested nonprofit leaders to join us on October 10th for a cocktail “leadership launch” celebration at the beautiful Saratoga Performing Arts Center from 4:30 to 7:00. This event is complimentary view details here and register today!
TANGO’s momentum continues to grow…the bigger we get the more we can do to support the sector!
Thanks, I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming TANGO event!
Best regards,
Rollin
