Have you ever wondered how to make a change in your industry when it comes to laws and regulations?

In most cases, the answer is to advocate directly to policy makers, whether it is at the local level or at the State House. Change can be achieved through the use of advocacy and grassroots techniques and other strategies to influence decision makers. You have the power to impact government policy that impacts your marketplace or service area.

Advocacy helps nonprofits advance their mission, increase your funding sources, and solve community and societal problems. Advocacy allows you to advance the issues you care most about and helps bring about lasting change for the people and communities you serve. When done effectively, advocacy can influence public policy by providing a conduit for individuals and organizations to voice an opinion. There are many ways nonprofits can advocate to improve policies, programs, and services.

By attending this workshop, you will learn the techniques for a successful advocacy campaign. These techniques include learning about the legislative process, developing effective messaging, identifying and cultivating key decision makers, crafting an advocacy campaign, along with other elements needed to be an effective advocate.

Please join Tango and its partner TCORS Capitol Group, LLC (TCG) for an informative overview on legislative advocacy and making change in the governmental arena.
