Recent Connecticut Foodshare Accomplishments:

• Connecticut Foodshare celebrated our 40th anniversary last year, and distributed 40M meals to our neighbors in need.
• We have 120 employees in 3 warehouses in Wallingford, Bloomfield and Bridgeport and have over 100 mobile pantry distributions throughout the state that serve food insecure individuals including; seniors, veterans, children and families.
• Last year, thousands of volunteers provided 46,000 hours of volunteer service, equaling an additional 23 full-time staff members.
• We are always looking to expand sources of fresh produce for our neighbors. This summer we started hydroponic farming at our Wallingford headquarters.
• Connecticut Foodshare has been named one of Connecticut’s Top workplaces for the last 6 years

Additional Services:

• SNAP Outreach – We help our neighbors apply for this vital resource that aims to reduce grocery costs and stretch household budgets.
• Emergency Food Distribution – Supporting our community with emergency food during times of crisis.
• Retail Food Rescue – We partner with retail stores to connect partner programs to donated food that would otherwise go to waste.
• Senior Meals – Last year, we provided over 800,000 senior meals through CSFP monthly food packages.
• Summer Food For Kids – Partnering with summer camps to provide children with non-perishable food and produce to expand their nutrition.
• Institute for Hunger Research & Solutions – Supports our partners as they promote health and long-term solutions to hunger.

Tango provides Connecticut Foodshare with incredible networking opportunities with other non-profits to share best practices. We appreciate the workshops and ability to learn more about how other nonprofits are working their missions.
