EASTCONN
Established in 1980, EASTCONN is a public non-profit Regional Educational Service Center (RESC) that provides high-quality, cost-effective educational and related services to 33 towns and 36 school districts in northeastern Connecticut. The agency is governed by a Board of Directors, who are also members of locally elected Boards of Education. EASTCONN’s mission is to initiate, support and facilitate partnerships, collaborations and regional solutions that are responsive to the needs of all learners through exemplary programs, products and services. With locations in Windham, Hampton, Putnam, Killingly, Plainfield and Columbia, EASTCONN provides provide exemplary programs and services for learners, especially those with significant barriers, so each can achieve individual success; engages in strategic collaborations that result in positive outcomes for learners; and enhances the knowledge and skills of educators and the whole community, so they can effect change and facilitate positive outcomes for learners.

EASTCONN’s Early Childhood Initiatives recently hosted its 10th annual Infant-Toddler Conference to a sold-out audience in Hampton, where keynote speaker Cora D’Alessandro, MA, IMH-E presented a talk entitled “Listen, Pause, Respond: The Art of Communicating with Infants and Toddlers.”
EASTCONN leaders published an editorial in The Connecticut Mirror highlighting the significant impact of disconnected and at-risk youth in our region and testified on the issue at a public hearing in Hartford.
EASTCONN established a Trauma-Informed Practices training/partnership with the other five Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs) in the state.
EASTCONN redesigned its Mobile Manufacturing Lab in partnership with General Dynamics Electric Boat and the Eastern Workforce Investment Board (EWIB).
EASTCONN co-hosted an innovative Transportation Hackathon with Access Community Action Agency, Generations Family Health Centers and many other organizations.
