DEI Committees have evolved over the last 30 years, and even more so in the last year. Many organizations are evaluating their DEI Committees and identifying their needs and purpose, particularly in the current socio-political climate.
This session will explore the origins and history of DEI Committees and offer ways organizations are meeting the cultural needs of their workplaces while also navigating increased scrutiny on DEI work.
Led by Dr. LB Hannahs of Tangible Development, participants will learn from Dr. Hannahs’ work, as well as other session participant’s experiences with evolving DEI Committees to meet current and future needs. Participants will:
- Understand the historical context of DEI Committees
- Explore multiple examples of DEI Committees in present-times
- Learn from peers on the ways DEI Committees can evolve to meet the current needs and avoid the risks of the DEI legal landscape in 2026 and beyond
