Susan G. Komen is a nonprofit dedicated to fighting breast cancer. Founded in 1982 by Nancy Brinker in honor of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who passed away from breast cancer at the age of 36. Komen is the largest and most well-known breast cancer foundations in the world. What sets Komen apart from other cancer organizations is we take a 360 degree approach At Komen, we focus on a 360 degree approach to funding through Research, Care, Action and Community.

Regardless of where you live, Komen offers

  1. Breast Care Helpline
    Offers support provided by trained specialists and oncology social workers to support those navigating our complex health care system in both English and Spanish
  2. Financial Assistance Program
    Provides financial assistance to help cover housing, transportation, medications, oral chemotherapy, medical equipment, home care, child and elder care, food and more

Patient Navigation
Connects patients to support and resources and empowers navigators with knowledge, skills and solutions

  • Special education
  • Residential and day programming
  • Assistive technology, digital accessibility, durable medical equipment reuse, and clinical specialty services like augmentative and alternative communication
  • Mental health & substance abuse services

Recent Accomplishments and additional information:

Komen funded research has contributed to the development of all 19 breast cancer drugs approved by the FDA in the last 10 years.

Our More Than Pink Walk is October 26, 2025 at Bushnell Park. We offer many other opportunities to partner with Komen through our VIPink, Go Pink for Komen, Advocacy, Donor Advisory Funds, volunteering  and so much more. Additionally, we are currently funding $2 million in research at Yale
