Easterseals of Greater Waterbury

Easterseals is a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services to individuals with disabilities.  We pride ourselves on being an inclusive organization and empower people of all ages and abilities to be full and equal participants in their communities. Our high quality programs and services provided throughout Greater Waterbury, Central and Northwest CT communities, include school readiness education, early intervention, rehabilitation services, vocational services, and audiology services.

Easterseals of Greater Waterbury Accomplishments

Easterseals of Greater Waterbury has provided direct services for over 4000 individuals last year. Easterseals programs stretch well beyond individuals served directly, touching the lives of parents, family members and friends. This year, 106 students have graduated from our Children’s Academies and Children’s Center and have started Kindergarten.  We are also currently enrolling new students.

We have been very involved on a legislative level by testifying in front of Connecticut legislators and advocating for non-profit providers as well as holding virtual meetings to inform our legislators how important it is to provide funding to non-profits.  We have expanded our driver assessment program to include Driver Training.  This new program provides training on adaptive equipment for individuals who have gone through the Driver Assessment program and need adaptive equipment in their vehicles in order to drive independently.  Our leaders are very involved in our local community engaging in over 130 community-based events.  Our leadership team continue to participate in advocacy, education and promotion of Easterseals, as well as sitting on community-based Boards, Easterseals National Affinity groups, Statewide working groups and more.

TANGO’s Impact on Easterseals of Greater Waterbury 

Easterseals has attended various TANGO’s educational and networking events which have provided our staff with the appropriate tools and resources needed to enhance our mission. These educational and networking events allow not for profits like Easterseals, access to information at low or no cost.  Tango’s vendor partners are a tremendous resource as well.
