Project Genesis Accomplishments

Project Genesis was named Hartford Courant Top Workplace 6 times (2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022)

Local Community Support
Funded by the Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS), our Reaching Individual Success & Employment (RISE) program helps Connecticut adults with a wide range of disabilities obtain employment in their chosen field. We also provide “Level Up” transition services through ADS for students with disabilities to help prepare them enter the workplace. Project Genesis’ Special Education Support Services (SESS) program is funded by school districts to provide one-on-one services aligned with Individualized Education Plans (IEP). We believe all students can be successful with the right support and that every student should have creative and individualized services.  Funded by the Department of Social Services, our Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Waiver program helps brain injury survivors learn to live independently in their own homes and communities. In 2022, Project Genesis provided individualized support services to over 225 people with disabilities throughout the state. Success for Project Genesis is measured by the successes of the consumers we serve. They courageously dare to dream, chart a course, and do the hard work needed to achieve their goals.

Recent Organization Events
Project Genesis, in collaboration with Eastern CT State University, recently created videos showcasing how we are committed to making a difference for individuals with disabilities in their communities. See how we are creating a positive impact. These videos are prominently displayed on the home page of our website at www.ProjectGenesis.us

Project Genesis coordinates an annual Student Learning Fair in Willimantic to showcase students’ achievements in relations to their IEP goals, coordinate and facilitate a monthly state-wide brain injury support group and an annual state-wide, “Fun in the Sun” cookout for brain injury survivors and their families. Both the support group and cookout are run in partnership with BIAC (Brain Injury Alliance of CT) and are open to anyone with an ABI. Social events foster natural therapeutic relationships, enhance social skills and self-care, build unity, and promote advocacy.
