    Overview:

Organizations are built on leadership and processes. As such, it’s essential for an organization to continuously improve in the areas of organizational infrastructure, management, governance, and staff capacity. Intentional focus on capacity building creates a pathway for nonprofits to reach their next level of operational, programmatic, financial, or organizational maturity, so it may more effectively and efficiently advance its mission.  Without it, we risk focusing our energy and attention solely on providing services and expanding projects – essentially piling on weight without adequate support.  Capacity building is not a one-time effort to improve short-term effectiveness, but rather a continuous improvement strategy toward the creation of a sustainable and effective organization

Join us as we explore the who, what and how of capacity building for nonprofits. The Connection’s Institute for Innovative Practice is committed to providing quality professional development and consultation to help organizations solve problems, adapt to change, and evolve.
